Our Mission

At First Aid & CPR, we are committed to providing our clients with the best CPR, First Aid and Safety training possible. Our mission is to educate our students with the knowledge and skills needed to save a life.

History

First Aid & CPR, LLC was started in 2011 by Steve Ross. With his background in emergency services since 1977, Steve found the need to start training more people in lifesaving skills. As a longtime instructor for private companies and hospitals, Steve realized that the main issue of people taking these classes were the nervousness of coming to a strange, cold classroom. He felt that to alleviate this problem he needs to bring the training to the student. First Aid & CPR, LLC brings ALL necessary equipment to the student. Whether it is at their home, business or organization. Starting with CPR/AED and First Aid training, the company has evolved to offer training in Advanced Bleeding Control, Bloodborne Pathogens, Babysitting classes, Pet First Aid & Pet CPR and much more.

As instructors in First Aid & CPR, we know the importance of starting good and effective emergency care as soon as possible. The training you will receive will enable you to do just that. We provide instructor-led, video driven instruction in basic first aid techniques and CPR. All our training is in accordance with the American Heart Association,American Health and Safety Institute, American Red Cross, National Safety Institute, Safesitters and the American Association of Poison Control Centers.

First Aid & CPR, LLC is a Training Site for the American Heart Association, a Training Center for the American Safety & Health Institute, a Training Center for the National Safety Council, a Licensed Training Provider for the American Red Cross, and a Training Center for SafeSitters

First Aid & CPR, LLC Instructors

All our instructors are American Heart Association BLS and/or HeartSaver Instructors. Some instructors also hold certifications as instructors with the American Safety Health Institute, American Red Cross, National Safety Council, SafeSitters and/or the New Jersey Poison Control Center.

Steve Ross

Steve was born in Brooklyn, NY. At the age of 17, he joined his local volunteer ambulance and first aid squad. He received his training from the American Red Cross and eventually became an Emergency Medical Technician ( EMT). He worked EMS and then became a firefighter. In the early 80's, he became a CPR and First Aid Instructor with the American Red Cross, and then received his Instructorship with the American Heart Association and now with the American Health and Safety Institute and the National Safety Council. He is certified as a Training Center Faculty with the American Heart Association. Continuing his education, he has received certifications and licenses in many areas of emergency services. He is part of his local Office of Emergency Management and has written plans for EMS and Evacuation. Part of his evacuation plans includes the evacuation and reentry for civilians, pets and farm animals.

Cheri Rose

Cheri Marci Rose was one of our first Pet First Aid & CPR instructors. She performs most of our pet classes in and out of Monmouth County and represents us at most of our Pet Vendor & Health and Wellness events, including Fundraisers & Charities. In addition, she instructs Hands-on Demo CPR Classes for elementary school children, as a free service and is a SafeSitter Babysitting Instructor. She is also a Certified Poison Instructor and has been with First Aid & CPR, LLC. since its inception, serving as our Office Manager. Her prior careers were serving as a Paralegal and Legal Asst. to House Counsel, first at Children's Hospital in D.C. and later as Paralegal and Office Manager at Hartford Insurance Co. in Freehold. After becoming a mom to two daughters, she transitioned into the medical field as Executive Assistant to Chief of Psychiatry at Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune, NJ and later as Executive Assistant to Director of Nursing Administration at Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ

Bryan Ross

Bryan was born and raised in Monmouth County, New Jersey. He has always had a passion for helping the people of his community. Joining the Manalapan Township Police Explorers in 2002 at the age of 12, he quickly worked his way up the ranks to Sergeant by 2004. Soon after, he joined the Gordon’s Corner Volunteer Fire Company as a junior member and is still with the fire company as a Fire Police Officer. He has helped his community with fundraising events and volunteering/participating at the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life events. He is an instructor with the American Heart Association, American Safety & Health Institute, American Red Cross and the New Jersey Poison Control Center. Just recently, he became a certified Car Seat Installer/Inspector with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Safe Kids Worldwide. Bryan is also a Training Center Faculty with the American Heart Association.

We are a Training Center for ASHI. As a training center, we run training in CPR/AED, First Aid, Oxygen Administration, Pet First Aid & Pet CPR, Bloodborne Pathogens training and more. We also offer Instructor courses.

National Safety Council (NSC)

As a Licensed Training Provider for the American Red Cross, we are contracted to offer CPR/AED, First Aid and other ARC courses throughout the US.
